whoosh! three months are gone like that

Whoa, I can't believe it's been three months since my last post. Yeesh. I seriously need to get better at this blogging thing. My apologies to all of those who... uh, don't follow me. I hate that pretty much every one of my latest posts have been just one big update, but when one is a stellar blogger like me and writes so frequently that is the sort of thing one must write about. Luckily for you, this big update will be an exciting big update... unlike the last few big updates.

First... I'M HERMIA IN A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yuppers, really excited about that one. :D I think this was the first time ever getting a part that I wanted badly. I wanted one of the Pigeons in Odd Couple quite a bit, but that was all kind of last minute, so there wasn't as much tension beforehand. With Hermia, though, I'd been looking forward to this show for over a year and I wanted her so ridiculously bad. I shouted into the phone when I got the news and actually started to cry a bit. Can you imagine what it'll be like if I ever make it to the big time? Lord help us. I just got home from blocking the big mix-up in the woods which involves me crawling, clawing, screaming, hobbling, and, for a brief instant, being airborn. This is gonna be SO good.

Second... I got the part of Pam in The Full Monty. This was a show that I wasn't even planning on auditioning for, but decided to last minute. I didn't really know the show very well so on my audition sheet I just wrote that I wouldn't do ensemble and, whaddya know, I come out with a decent part! Pam's the ex-wife of the main character, Jerry. She's also the mother of a.... uh, twelve year old. I'm going to have to put a lot of work into the makeup and hair. It's easy to age oneself forty years, but ten is a bit of a challenge.

Third... As some of you who met with some difficulty when attempting to purchase tickets know, Cats played to a mostly sold out run!! This is almost unheard of with the current economy so, needless to say, we were all quite excited. I also heard something of rumour that Cats had the biggest number of attendees ever for a show at The Center!! Pretty damn spectacular, I'd say.

So that is it, my update. I shall try to post more regularly from now on. And, with luck, you can expect some photos from Cats and some of my other recent shows. Ta-ta!
